Create a live linux usb with unetbootin

Unetbootin is a tool which was created by Geza Kovacs  that helps you  to create a Live Linux USB  flash from an iso file.

It is compatible with Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. This tool offers you a  great chance to  explore linux distributions without  the need of burning cds. It is very easy to use  and very powerful tool.  You can use iso files you have downloaded or you can use unetbootin to download  the  iso file for you. Unetbootin uses syslinux to make your USB drive bootable. It is written in C++ using the Qt4 toolkit  and it is open source. How to use  unetbootin ?  After you have installed unetbootin , open a new terminal and  run unetbootin tool as root with “sudo unetbootin” command like shown in Figure 1.

Type your password and press Enter.

Click Diskimage and select the  ISO  file like shown in  Figure 3.

Plugin the usb you want to use  and  click ok.  Wait until the proccess is finished.  Now  reboot your computer and boot from the usb drive.
